Simeon Stafford Original Painting On A Plate Donkey Rides And St Michael's Mount

Product information

Wonderful Original Painted Plate by Simeon Stafford.

Simeon Stafford was born in Dukinfield in 1956. During his teenage years after winning awards for his art he met and was encouraged to study and paint by L S Lowry. In 1972 and 1973 he studied at Hyde College and he became a professional artist in 1974. His early paintings were similar to those of Lowry and other northern artists reflecting the Northern landscape and characters in a ‘primitive style.’ After 1996 when he moved to Cornwall (near St Ives) his art gradually became a fusion of Northern and Cornish styles combining reality with imagination to create a highly individual often humorous, bustling style, where colour and light are important features. In 2001 Stafford exhibited at the Royal Academy and he has successful exhibitions throughout the UK. His work is in many private collections including those of the Queen and Tony Blair.
