Beautiful Original Oil Painting by Peter Kuhfeld.

Peter Kuhfeld was born in Cheltenham 1952 and studied painting at Leicester College of Art and The Royal Academy Schools under Peter Greenham.  He was created Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Painters/Stainers 1978. He has won a number of art prizes including the David Murray Landscape Prize 1978-79, Royal Academy Silver Medal for Drawing and the Dooley Prize for Anatomical Drawing, Royal College of Surgeons 1979, the H.R.H The Prince of Wales' prize for portrait drawing, Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He has regularly exhibited in London since 1987, including The Royal Academy and the NEAC. In 1990 he travelled with H.R.H The Prince of Wales to Nigeria, Cameroon, Tunisia and Japan and in 1993 to Poland. Work in permanent collections: H.M The Queen, H.R.H The Prince of Wales; Baring Bros; Lazards; Cable and Wireless, Hammerson Group; National Trust; Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation, Hambros etc. Among his most famous portraits is that of Harry Patch, the last survivor of the First World War trenches.  This has become the iconic portrait of an old soldier, and now resides in the Royal Collection.

Approximately 22" by 18" including the frame, the painting is approximately 16" by 12".
