Superb Original Mixed Media Painting by Leslie Gooday OBE.

Leslie Gooday OBE (1921 – 2013). Following service in the RAF between 1939 and 1945 Leslie Gooday was staff Architect and assisted Hugh Casson on the 1951 Festival of Britain South Bank Exhibition. He then set up his own private practice designing many major exhibitions for the Governments of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Nigeria as well as corporate companies including Shell and ICI. He gained awards from the American Museum of Modern Art. His own private residence in Surrey and the National Swimming Baths in Richmond are now listed by English Heritage as outstanding examples of architecture. He was awarded the OBE after designing the ‘Progress of Mankind’ section of the British Pavilion at Expo ’70 Osaka Japan. His paintings and collages were exhibited in annual one man exhibitions and in many art galleries including the RI and RBA. He was a member of the Chelsea Arts Society and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.

Approximately 28″ by 20 1/2″ including the frame, the painting is approximately 18 3/4″ by 11″.

The picture is in good condition, there is the odd blemish and area of wear to the frame.

Paintings by Leslie Gooday have been sold at Christie’s Auctioneers in London for up to £1800.
