Superb Original Pastel Painting by James V Horton.
James Horton was born in London in 1948. He studied at the Sir John Cass School of Art, the City & Guilds School of Art and the Royal College of Art. He has exhibited widely including solo shows at Hay Galleries, Hay-on-Wye, Tom Caldwell Gallery, Belfast and Dublin and Trumpington Gallery in Cambridge. He has also been involved in many group exhibitions including the Royal Portrait Society in 1975, the Royal Society of British Artists from 1975 to 1987 and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition from 1972 to 1987. Horton was a prize winner in the 1972 Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, has written many books and articles, and has been a regular contributor to magazines such as The Artist since the mid 1970s. Horton has taught in art schools and summer schools in Britain & abroad. His works are in the collections of Girton, Newnham and Trinity Colleges, Cambridge. He now lives in Cambridge.

Approximately 18 1/2" by 15" including the frame, the painting is approximately 11 1/2" by 8 1/4".
The painting is in excellent condition, the frame has some wear.
